Code of Conduct

RESPECTING ST. BERNARD'S PROPERTY:

Please remember that we are guests in this facility. Please do not run in the buildings or on the stairs, and please care for the desks, tables and furniture by not writing on them. If something is broken, please let a teacher or a facilitator know so that the issue can be addressed.

Make sure that all participants stay in the areas that have been designated for our use in accordance with Diocesan standards. No children should be left unattended in the church.

Maintain cleanliness; the building should be left in better condition than we find it!

RESPECTING OTHERS - Rules for students:

Act respectfully to all adults and students. Listen to and obey teachers and parents the first time that you are asked to do something.

Please keep your hands and feet to yourself and do not run. Keep the safety of all in mind. Please be welcoming to all! Please do not exclude or act in a disrespectful manner towards anyone. Show kindness with your words and your actions. Be aware of younger children and watch out for them in the group areas. Set a good example for them!

RESPECT IN THE CLASSROOM:

Please come to class on time and be prepared and ready to learn. Each teacher will have different guidelines and expectations for his/her class. Please learn and follow the rules required for each class. It is the expectation that all children will participate while in their classes.

Do not disrupt other classes and stay in the areas where you are supposed to be. If you are not in a class, you must be with your parent or the adult responsible for you.

Hats, cell phones, cameras, electronic devices, food and drinks are not permitted in classes unless permission is given by the teacher.

PLEASE NOTE: Teachers will address both student and parent if there is a behavior issue in a class. This will be done as soon as possible, so that the teacher can maintain the best learning environment for the child, and all of the other children in the class. As we look to this cooperative to have social and behavioral learning experiences for our children, please know that these instances are opportunities for growth for the kids.

Thank you all for your support and assistance with maintaining our Code of Conduct!
